Ah! Aphrodite, she was the ancient Greek goddess of love, beauty, fertility, physical pleasure (particularly sexual), eternal youth, grace, and beauty. identified with Venus by the Romans. She was known primarily as a goddess of love and fertility and occasionally presided over marriage. Additionally, Aphrodite was widely worshipped as a goddess of the sea and of seafaring and, she played roles in commerce, war, and politics, and perhaps most notably, as one of the progenitors of the Trojan War.
the Greeks described Aphrodite as a young, beautiful woman with long hair and a dress that accentuates her feminine curves. She was often portrayed with an apple, shell, dove or swan.
As someone who struggled with self-image and who is slowly working on loving myself, Aphrodite is who i think of when it comes to self-love, someone who can lead you towards a more authentic and liberated state of being.
