Inspired by Persephone, Goddess Queen of the underworld, wife of the god Hades. She was also the goddess of spring growth, who was worshiped alongside her mother Demeter.

Hades, one faced with a wrath of the gods, tricked Persephone so she could never leave. He gifted her a pomegranate and she ate several of its seeds not knowing that anyone who ate from the depth of hell would be forced to stay there forever. He hoped that she would eventually grow to love him.

In the orphic myths, the goddess Persephone was seduced by Zeus in the guise of a serpent. She bore him a son, the Godling Zagreus. When Zeus placed him up on the throne of heaven, was attacked and dismembered by the Titans.

Some of these elements you will find in this small painting.
